Weekend trip to Snowdonia, Wales

By 9:42 p.m.

Wales is well known for its outstanding natural beauty as well as for its unbelievably difficult to pronounce names of towns and places. I must confess I knew little about this country before my trip to Snowdonia National Park in Northern Wales, called Eryri in Welsh. However, a weekend there was enough to make me want to return soon.

Snowdonia boasts the impressive Mount Snowdon, highest elevation of Wales and England, among other peaks, making it a popular destination for those who love climbing, trekking, and walking. It was the first to be designated national park in the country, and it is home to an impressive flora and fauna, some of which can only be found here such as the Snowdon beetle.

We stayed at a lakeside cabin near the village of Rhyd Ddu, an ideal spot to start any exploration of the area. Our trip was specifically planned to climb Mount Snowdon, and there are two paths to the summit starting there. We chose the Snowdon Ranger Path, but any path offers breathtaking views of the scenic landscape. Our group was composed of wonderful people, and it was nice to share such an amazing experience with good friends.

The most wonderful feeling a traveller can experience is to visit places that awaken the soul. Snowdonia chooses to live in your memory forever by giving you moments of peace and tranquility. It is the power of the sheer beauty of nature.

In order to look at the pictures I recommend to listen to Olafur Arnalds and Alice Ott.
I find it so relaxing to look at these photographs while listening to their wonderful tunes.
